Frequently Asked Questions
What is Round Up Savings?
Round Up enables members to make an automated transfer to an account within their member number, based on point-of-sale (POS) debit card transactions.
How does Round Up Savings work?
For example, if a cardholder completes a debit card transaction for $22.42, $0.58 (the difference between $22.42 and $23.00) will automatically transfer to the member’s designated account – rounding up the amount to the next whole dollar. When the purchase is a whole-dollar amount, the system rounds up the amount by $1.00.
Where Can the Round-Up Be Directed?
As it stands today, the round-up must remain within the same member number where the debit card resides. Cardholders can round up their savings in any interest-bearing account, such as a Money Market Checking Account or a Regular Share Account. Cardholders cannot use accounts such as IRAs, certificates, HSAs, or escrow for rounding up savings. Cardholders cannot select a different member number for the round-up.
